an Electric Home Shower for self-motivation!

Hola!

I am 38 weeks pregnant today and I have about two to three weeks more to go from my EDD!

I dedicated this post for my husband for buying me an electric home shower for my convenient during my upcoming confinement days.

As I had decided to give birth in General Hospital for the past few months, one of my special request was to have an electric home shower in order to motivate myself as a new mom-to-be. It was the best gift ever for both of us (me and our not-yet-born baby) of course.

On the day when we decided to give up his company trip to Krabi, Thailand due to the fact that I was not allow to board an airplane (Air Asia) as I was 35 weeks pregnant (sadly no tickets offered by Malaysia Airlines too), my husband bought me the electric home shower. I was giving up our family trip to Langkawi as well, as I was 34 weeks pregnant during that time, in order to avoid any trouble and of course, I had two days lectures to attend.

Indeed, we were far from our babymoon but, for me, the water heater did replaced our babymoon. HAHA.

For the sake of our small family memory, let me share few pictures of the special gift ever.

...

I kept insisting my husband to install the shower as I believe in him (he is an electrician right) but apparently, someone else did install it for us. So yeah, the shower that I had intended to make it as an 'ornamental fixtures' was obviously unachievable. At least, I can smile while having a shower thinking of him. ❤  Somehow, not anymore. I was quite in doubtful in using it - in terms of safety.

Still awkward by the shower head placement. Why it was there.

Thank you for the shower, abong!

Sambal Ikan Bilis Goreng Cili Padi

I woke up quite early this morning just to enjoy my not-so-tasty breakfast downstairs. I took a shower and decided to do some laundry. After a few minutes staring at my Malaysian Torrens System textbook, I felt hungry again.

As I was in the kitchen, I saw some leftover cooked rice inside the rice cooker. It was so outdated for me to prepare for the Nasi Goreng Kampung (Kampung Fried Rice) as usual from the leftover cooked rice. Instead, I prepared for a congee rice. It turned out to be a super thick congee rice and I felt so grateful.

The greatest challenge was to prepare the main course of the congee rice. I choose to have the Sambal Ikan Bilis Goreng Cili Padi (the greenish spicy gravy). This was my second attempt in preparing the said Sambal and it turned out so bad! I mean, so freaking bad. (Congratulation to my husband as he did so well in preparing the Sambal for the first attempt.)

I got the basic recipe in here:-

I was just referring to it as the basis of my cooking without strictly followed the methods suggested.

Just add some hot boiled water and turn on the gas until it turned into congee rice.
Add some salt to taste.

Sambal Ikan Bilis Goreng Cili Padi

For the ingredients, please refer to the link mentioned above.

Fry them till golden and crispy and set them aside.

Next, by using the same cooking oil, saute the onions, garlic, cili padi as well as the belacan.

At this point of time, you may add salt to taste and turn off the gas to prevent from being over cooked.

Add the fried small anchovies and mixed them well.

Mine was over cooked!

Ready to eat!

I really enjoy plain congee rice. It was quite disappointed to have an overcooked Sambal or should I said, overheating! I would try again so that I got the greenish-like look Sambal in the future.

Hmm... :(

Nesting During Pregnancy

One of the signs of labor is nesting. The urge to nesting. Haha. Apart from the three major signs of labor (the contractions, bloody show and water breaking), nesting is one of the signs of labor too. (:

I am so glad that I had already washed all the baby clothes and mine as well. Indeed, as my baby bump is getting bigger each weeks, it is a lot easier for me to take a rest without having to think on some other huge stuffs except for preparing myself for labor.

More about Nesting During Pregnancy can be read online:

So yeah, here is my bedroom arrangement for the whole upcoming confinement days.

Love. ❤
